M. Mukoujima et al., STRESS-INDUCED MOTION OF TWIN BOUNDARY IN (TMTSF)(2)PF6 SINGLE-CRYSTAL, Journal of the Korean Physical Society, 31(3), 1997, pp. 435-438
Motion of twin boundaries in (TMTSF)(2)PF6 was studied. The twin bound
ary moves intermittently and chaotically under constant force. Moreove
r it moves spontaneously in some regions. The spontaneous motion is in
termittent and chaotic. Presumably there are other factors, besides ex
ternal stress and position dependent potential, which determine the mo
tion. The intermittence and chaos are the essentials of twin boundary
motion and they can not be explained as long as the twin boundary is r
egarded as a rigid body.
