Yh. Min et al., ELECTROOPTIC PROPERTIES AND THERMAL-STABILITY OF A POLED ORGANIC SILICA HYBRID FILM AND ITS APPLICATION TO CHANNEL WAVE-GUIDE/, Journal of the Korean Physical Society, 31(3), 1997, pp. 443-447
An organic/silica hybrid film containing an electro-optical chromophor
e was fabricated by the sol-gel process, and the electro-optic effect
was established by both the DC Contact poling and the corona poling me
thod. The largest value obtained for the electro-optic coefficient, r(
33), was 16 pm/V at a wavelength of 1.3 mu m, and the poled film showe
d good thermal stability; it retained 95% of its r(33) initial value a
fter 800 hours at room temperature. The photobleaching method was empl
oyed to fabricate a single-mode channel waveguide, which was confirmed
by the mode pattern of the guiding wave.
