Abstract
It is shown that the ponderomotive force of a nonuniform intense neutr ino beam can generate large scale quasi-stationary magnetic fields in a dense electron plasma. This mechanism can be responsible for the ori gin of magnetic fields in the early universe. (C) 1997 Elsevier Scienc e B.V.
