H. Legarrec et al., SPECTROSCOPIC FACTORS OPTIMIZATION IN ELECTROTHERMAL ATOMIC-ABSORPTION SPECTROMETRY VIA AN OPTIMAL EXPERIMENTAL-DESIGN MATRIX, Analytica chimica acta, 350(1-2), 1997, pp. 171-182
A method, fast and simple to carry out, is proposed to optimize the in
strumental spectroscopic parameters, such as bandpass, lamp current an
d monochromator slit height in electrothermal atomic absorption spectr
ometry. It is based on the monitoring of the detection limit estimatio
n (DLE) variation by using a ''D-optimal'' experimental design. This m
ethod is tested on Cd, Mn, Cu and Sn. In comparison with the default o
perating conditions, the limits of detection are systematically improv
ed.
