Abstract
An alternative process-route for the production of fatty alcohols is t he direct hydrogenation of triglycerides. The lately developed working up process of the reaction mixture contains an extraction step. The s tarting point of extended experiments were the determination of liquid -liquid-equilibria data of the system precut-fatty alcohol/water/propa nediol-1,2. The method used together with the results obtained is desc ribed. A correlation shows a good agreement with the NRTL-model as wel l as the calculation of LLE data with the UNIFAC method.
