A. Schumacher, VEGETATION DEVELOPMENT ON THE HIRSCHKOPF LANDSLIDE - SUCCESSION ON RAW CALCAREOUS AND MARLY SOILS, Forstwissenschaftliches Centralblatt, 116(4), 1997, pp. 232-242
In 1983 more than 50 ha woodland were devastated by a landslide. In 19
85-1995 the vegetation development was studied. The newly formed raw s
oils are still covered by initial stages of vegetation development. Th
e progress of succession depends on supply of diaspores, nature of the
soils, and microclimatic conditions. On the raw calcareous soils Stip
ion calamagrostis communities established themselves, the raw marry so
ils were covered by communities of Petasition paradoxi and Dauco-Melil
otion. Reforestation is starring very slowly and depends on the increa
sing humic content of the raw soils.
