Abstract
Aromatic ketones PhCOR were coupled with uranium complexes to give, af ter deuterolysis, the pinacol 3 and the keto-alcohol 4 resulting respe ctively from the pinacol and pam coupling of the carbonyl substrate. T he organometallic precursors of 3 and 4 were in equilibrium. Pinacols were obtained in higher yields by using the less sterically hindered c omplexes. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
