Abstract
To provide a more accurate description of an analytical signal shaped as an asymmetric peak, a modified derivative of the logistic function was proposed, This function describes asymmetric peaks with different characteristics of kurtosis. A number of recommendations are given for the optimum computer implementation of the proposed function in analy tical practice. It is shown that real asymmetric peaks obtained in str ipping voltammetry and chromatography can be adequately described usin g a modified derivative of the logistic function.
