Ld. Svintsova et Nn. Chernyshova, ELECTROCHEMICAL SAMPLE PREPARATION FOR THE DETERMINATION OF CD, PB, AND CU IN THE PRESENCE OF SURFACTANTS BY STRIPPING VOLTAMMETRY, Journal of analytical chemistry, 52(9), 1997, pp. 831-836
The electrochemical pretreatment of aqueous solutions of synthetic sur
factants in a diaphragm electrolyzer was used in order to diminish sur
factant interference. The determination of cadmium, lead, and copper b
y stripping voltammetry with a mercury-film electrode in model solutio
ns of cetylpyridinium chloride, sodium lauryl sulfate, and OP-10 was t
aken as an example. It was found that the reproducibility of anodic pe
aks of the elements was improved, and the linearity of calibration cha
racteristics was recovered; however, the sensitivity was not always as
high as in the blank experiment.
