Abstract
This review describes nervous diseases seen in 117 captive and non-cap tive Australian birds, materials from which are contained in the Taron ga Zoo pathology collection. The entities recorded include: suspect br ain or spinal cord trauma (21 cases), psittacine focal symmetrical pol iomyelomalacia (15), spongy vacuolation of cerebellar white matter (7) , suspect viral polioencephalomyelitis of rainbow lorikeets (35), psit tacine cerebellar folial atrophy (5), and miscellaneous other conditio ns (32).
