Abstract
In situ STM has been used to study the structure of hemoglobin(Hb) in two kinds of organic media. In hydrophobic organic solvent such as car bon tetrachloride, the structure of Hb is almost the same as in aqueou s solution, similar to its native structure. However, when in hydrophi lic organic solvent such as dimethylformamide, the two dimers of Hb mo lecule become separate and unfold to a certain extent.
