Abstract
Possibility of Y(III) purification of macroquantities from Ho(III) and microquantities from Er(III) on the strongly basic anion-exchanger Do wex 1 and on the macroporous MSA-1 was studied. It is based on the dif ference in affinity of Ho(III) and Er(III) complexes with HEDTA and co rresponding Y(III) complexes for the strongly basic anion-exchanger us ing the frontal analysis technique. The strongly basic anion-exchanger Dowex 1 of the cross-linking 4%DVB in the HEDTA form proved to be the most effective. Based on the position of Ho(III) and Er(III) in the a ffinity series the process of yttrium purification from holmium runs w ith a higher yield than that of yttrium purification from erbium.
