High-spin states in Cr-50 have been investigated with the reaction Mg-
24(S-32,alpha 2p) at 130 MeV bombarding energy, using the 4 pi GASP ga
mma-ray array plus the 4 pi charged-particle detector ISIS. The level
scheme has been extended up to the 18(+) state at 17.954 MeV excitatio
n energy. Several high-spin states which deexcite by emitting high ene
rgy gamma-rays have been identified. A second backbending is observed
at I = 18 (h) over bar, well above the 14(+) state which exhausts the
total spin available in a pure (f(7/2))(10) configuration.
