Abstract
We have installed a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor at the William Her schel Telescope. The sensor has 8x8 subapertures and operates at frame rates up to 865 Hz. It is used to monitor those aspects of the seeing relevant to the design and optimization of the future WHT adaptive op tics system. Here we describe its implementation and present some samp le results.
