Abstract
Hydrothermally unstable chromophores, like the azo dyes Basic Blue 159 and Basic Red 18:1 or the coumarin dye Basic Yellow 40, are monomolec ularly encapsulated in a AIPO(4)-5 molecular sieve by microwave-assist ed crystallization inclusion. The incorporation of the labile molecule s without degradation is attributed to the drastic decrease of the cry stallization time by one order of magnitude. The encapsulated dyes exh ibit inhomogenous broadening of the characteristic u.v./vis bands due to host-guest interactions. (C) Elsevier Science Inc. 1997.
