Abstract
We examine how females have fared relative to males in the rapidly gro wing Korean economy. Similar to the US, the average wage of Korean fem ales has increased relative to males. Unlike the US, the increase appe ars to be due mainly to improvements in productive characteristics suc h as schooling and experience and not reductions in wage discriminatio n.
