Abstract
The imine of 2-methylcyclopentanone with (S)(-)-phenylethylamine was s ubjected to reaction with methyl propiolate and the product was transf ormed into (-)-isocuparene by use of a Diels-Alder reaction to constru ct the aromatic ring. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
