Abstract
Local therapy with trichoriboside and trichosaccharide, which have bee n found to be beneficial for scalp hair maintenance in adult males aff ected by androgenic alopecia, was found to increase cAMP levels in hum an scalp hair follicles. The increase was significant in men affected by androgenic alopecia, whereas it was not significant in unaffected c ontrol men. Trichoriboside showed a greater activity than trichosaccha ride, and such activity was accompanied by a significant concomitant r eduction of ATP in the hair.
