A NEW SOLENOID MAGNETIC INTEGRATED DEAD FOR DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDING

A prototype of fully integrated magnetic head for Helical Scan Recorde rs has been developed. A batch process adapted to mass production on s ilicon wafers has been developed. The solenoid structure, the azimuth angle of the gap (angle between the written bits and the perpendicular to the track direction) in the process and the laminated magnetic mat erial make these heads compatible with digital standard for low track width Video recording (Long Play DVC). This process can lead to the fa brication of double heads with opposite azimuths and allows future inc rease in density by reducing the track width and gap length.
