The texture in magnets made from anisotropic HDDR powders was examined
using inverse pole figure and (006) pole figure, Unlike the anisotrop
ic magnets made by hot deformation, the magnets produced in the presen
t study did not show a strong preferred orientation, The (006) pole fi
gure of these magnets shows a weak (006) texture in contrast to that o
bserved for the anisotropic magnets made by hot deformation process. T
EM studies carried out on these samples indicate that they contain som
e grains which have grown bigger than the adjacent small grains, Align
ment of flakes with large grains in an applied magnetic field makes th
ese magnets made from HDDR powders anisotropic.
