This paper presents a wavelet-Galerkin method to solve dynamic electro
magnetic field problems. It differs from some former methods which dis
cretize the whole space domain using wavelet functions, however it dis
cretizes the space domain with finite element, because of its flexibil
ity to the boundary. At the same time, it introduces the scaling funct
ion as trial functions for time domain, which are space orthogonal alo
ng the real line but has poor ability to adapt complex boundaries. Thu
s, it corporates both's merits. The results are better without sufferi
ng too much calculation time.
