Abstract
Solubility of 1-butene, 1-hexene and 1-octene in linear low density po lyethylenes (LLDPE) was investigated. The solubility data could be sat isfactorily represented by the Flory-Huggins's equation over a wide co ncentration range and a temperature range of 70-85 degrees C with a fi xed interaction parameter chi. The composition distribution as well as the density of the copolymers significantly affected the solubility o f the alpha-olefins. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
