Ic. Boulton et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF THE MENINGOCOCCAL TRANSFERRIN-BINDING PROTEIN COMPLEX BY PHOTON-CORRELATION SPECTROSCOPY, FEBS letters, 414(2), 1997, pp. 409-413
Photon correlation spectroscopy demonstrated for the first time that c
o-purified meningococcal TbpA+B form a complex in solution. This struc
ture bound hTf and the resultant species under, vent partial dissociati
on after exposure to additional hTf or following prolonged incubation.
Purified TbpA and TbpB had similar apparent sizes but showed distinct
ive size profiles suggesting that TbpA forms a largely homogeneous pop
ulation while TbpB may produce more variable particle sizes under thes
e conditions. (C) 1997 Federation of European Biochemical Societies.
