Recently we introduced a general method for generating a represention
of the solution of the time-dependent Schrodinger equation in terms of
an optimized dynamical basis set. In the present contribution we appl
y this method to calculate excitation and electron loss cross sections
in collisions between cr-particles and hydrogen. We discuss merits of
the adaptive basis set in comparison with the commonly used two-centr
e-atomic-orbital approach.
