Epoxidation of alkenes with hydrogen peroxide was performed with polys
tyrene-supported peroxotungstic catalytic species. These peroxo specie
s were complexed by several phosphorus(V) ligands such as phosphine ox
ides, phosphonic acids and their related amides grafted onto the polym
eric matrices through sequential reactions. The efficiencies and the p
ossibilities of repeated uses of these catalysts are related to the ki
nd of the macroligand and its polymeric backbone.
