DISSOCIATIVE EXCITATION OF RUBIDIUM ATOMS UPON ELECTRON COLLISIONS WITH RUBIDIUM-IODIDE MOLECULES

Dissociative excitation of the rubidium atom during collisions of slow electrons with rubidium iodide molecules was studied by means of the extended crossed beams technique. A power-law dependence of dissociati ve excitation cross sections on the principal quantum number was obser ved for the spectral series of rubidium atom, and the characteristics of power law for each series were determined.
