Thermal quenching of UO22+ luminescence was examined simultaneously w
ith radiothermoluminescence of uranyl ions in a number of solvents who
se melting points lie within the range from 150 to 291 K. A correlatio
n between the position of radiothermoluminescence maximums, which refl
ect the release of molecular mobility in frozen solvents, and changes
in the parameters of thermal quenching of UO22+ was found. It was dem
onstrated that the lifetime of UO22+ dramatically decreases in a narr
ow temperature range (100-170 K), which is not coincident with the mel
ting point of the solvent. It was found that a compensation relationsh
ip is valid for the activation parameters of thermal quenching of UO2
2+ luminescence.
