Abstract
The crystal structure of the Dy3Fe2Si3 compound was determined by the single-crystal method (Mo K alpha radiation). Dy3Fe2Si3 has the orthor hombic Hf3Ni2Si3-type structure: space group Cmcm, oC32 (No. 63), a=4. 094(1) Angstrom, b=10.508(2) Angstrom, c = 13.638(3) Angstrom, V=587(1 ) Angstrom(3), Z=4, mu=44.4 mm(-1), R-F=0.0248 and R-w=0.0260 for 290 unique reflections. Crystallographic data of the two new isotypic rare earth R3Fe2Si3 and R3Co2Si3 (R=Y, Gd-Er, Lu) series are also reported . (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
