Abstract
The choice of surgical procedure for the treatment of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) remains clinically based. A meta-analysis was used to synthesize the results of 24 published clinical studies. Partial breas t tissue excision appears to be as efficacious as mastectomy for the t reatment of DCIS of the breast.
