Abstract
Ten metabolites, named tricycloalternarenes, were is elated from the c ulture filtrate of the phytopathogenic fungus, Alternaria alternata, a nd their structures elucidated by spectroscopic methods. Seven compoun ds are described for the first time. Tricycloalternarenes related to t he ACTG-toxins from A. citri cannot be denoted as host-specific toxins . (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
