Abstract
We study the standard dx2-y2 superconductor within the weak coupling m odel. We show that the tunneling conductance between two superconducto rs is consistent with recent observations in single crystals of Bi2Sr2 CaCu2O8. We predict also that the ultrasonic attenuation with the pola rization vector in the a-b plane reveals the underlying symmetry of th e superconducting order parameter.
