Abstract
We describe an experiment to produce high density pure electron plasma s in a cryogenic Penning trap. The apparatus and its operation are des cribed in detail. A brief summary of data acquired to date and its int erpretation are given. Possible uses and future work are mentioned. (C ) 1997 American Institute of Physics.
