Host Y-89 nuclear magnetic resonance line widths have been measured in
the Kondo alloy Y1-xUxPd3, x = 0,0.05,0.1, and 0.2, from 1.5 to 300 K
. An anomalous temperature dependence of the Y-89 line shape indicates
that the U-induced host electronic spin polarization is modified on a
distance scale orders of magnitude shorter than the Kondo coherence l
ength. This strongly suggests a qualitative difference between the gro
und states of Y1-xUxPd3 and more conventional Kondo alloys.
