Abstract
Polychlorinated phenanthrenes (PCPhen, Cl-x Phen, x = 1-10), dibenzoth iophenes (PCDT, ClxDT, x = 1-8), thianthrenes (PCTA, Cl(x)TA, x = 1-8) , and phenoxathiins (PCPT, ClxPT, x = 1-8) were synthesized and analyz ed by high resolution capillary gas chromatography and EI and NCI mass spectrometry. In experiments the formation of polychlorinated phenant hrenes and dibenzothiophenes in combustion processes has been proved a nd compounds of these two classes have been detected in dust samples o f an urban motorway tunnel.
