Improved procedures for the synthesis of chlorotricyanomethane by reac tion of potassium tricyanomethanide with sulfuryl chloride in sulfolan e and of carbamoylchlorodicyanomethane by reaction of potassium carbam oyldicyanomethanide with sulfuryl chloride in dichloromethane are desc ribed.
