Abstract
The appropriate management of ITP is still a matter of debate, The inc idence and course of the disease are different in children and adults, and within these groups, new-borns and pregnant women have specific n eeds. Yet there is little unanimity regarding how and when to treat ev en the most severe cases. The problem is compounded by the difficulty of differentiating ITP from other causes of thrombocytopenia.
