Adult neuroendocrine tumors may present with a wide range of clinical
symptoms that share specific ultrastructural and biochemical features.
A 63-year-old post-menopausal female patient was admitted to the hosp
ital with a mass in her right breast and the diagnosis was primary neu
roendocrine tumor of the breast. Although neuroendocrine tumors can or
iginate in various parts of the body and breast carcinoma with neuroen
docrine differentiation has been described, primary neuroendocrine tum
or of the breast is very unusual. This case is now presented and the c
urrent Literature is reviewed.
