Abstract
Treatment of (Z)-alpha-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)styryl ketones with acid s such as sulfuric acid and methanesulfonic acid in the presence of br omine as a catalyst followed by hydrolysis of the resulting crystallin e salts gives the corresponding (E)-isomers with high efficiency.
