Abstract
The paper aims to evaluate the fractal dimension of one-variable funct ion graphs based on the topological space L(alpha). A good convergence of calculated fractal dimensions can be found by using curves whose f ractal dimensions are known. The results obtained by ANA or ''conventi onal methods'' are improved by an estimation of discretization errors. An algorithm has been derived from the algebraic relations and conver ges rapidly. This algorithm could also be used to evaluate the fractal dimension of measured profiles and to screen multifractals.
