Ss. Berdonosov et al., ANNEALING OF DEFECTS IN INORGANIC CRYSTALLINE HYDRATES DURING MICROWAVE PROCESSING, Inorganic materials, 33(10), 1997, pp. 1065-1066
When not accompanied by water removal or significant, by more than 10
degrees C, sample heating, microwave processing of BaCl2 . 2H(2)O and
CaSO4 . 2H(2)O crystalline hydrates results in annealing of defects re
sponsible for the onset of thermal dehydration. This effect may be use
d to improve structural perfection of dielectric crystals at low tempe
rature.
