Abstract
A method for the determination of tylosin in milk is reported. Milk sa mples were defatted, diluted with water and purified using RP18 solid phase extraction columns. Determination was achieved by reversed-phase liquid chromatography and UV detection at 287 nm. Peak identity was c hecked by recording the UV spectrum. Detection limit for tylosin in mi lk was 12.5-15 ng/ml. Recoveries for tylosin from spiked milk samples (concentration range: 25-100 ng/ml) were 81.7-87.6%, with coefficients of variation of 7.32-17.1%.
