Abstract
The present paper focusses on the fatty acid hydroperoxides pathways, mainly hydroperoxide lyase and hydroperoxide dehydrase. For each enzym e, the definition, occurrence and subcellular localization is presente d. Particular attention is given to reaction mecanisms and to substrat e specificity. Physiological roles of reaction products are also discu ssed.
