Single crystals of beta-BaB2O4 up to 70 mm in diameter and 10 mm in th
ickness were prepared by top-seeded solution growth. Heat capacity of
the crystals was measured by adiabatic calorimetry in the temperature
range 80-300 K. C-p data were numerically integrated to evaluate therm
odynamic functions. Heat capacity of beta-BaB2O4 rises monotonically i
n the temperature range studied.
