Abstract
The polarization of a Pb(Zr0.6Ti0.4)O-3 capacitor was measured before and after fatigue using both a Sawyer-Tower circuit and the RT-66A Fer roelectric Test Unit. Discrepancies were observed in various polarizat ion measurements performed after fatigue. This disparity may be explai ned by considering the effect a change in the electrical resistance of the capacitor after fatigue has on the polarization measurements. Thi s explanation was established by observing the effect a shunt resistor placed in parallel with the sample capacitor has on the various polar ization measurements.
