Abstract
Social gerontology is obliged to an applied approach. In. Kassel, Germ any, professional social workers are coming back to the university to attend to a gerontological postgraduate curriculum. In this curriculum the applicability of research results is an element in the same way a s producing a feedback from practice to science. The exchange between practice and theory is established within the courses. The students ar e intended to play the role of appreciated innovators.
