Abstract
We report observations of charging effects in measurements of high-tem perature superconductors with high-resolution electron-energy-loss spe ctroscopy. The source of the charging was found to be a nominally cond uctive, silver-filled epoxy, such as is commonly used for mounting sam ples to be cooled in ultrahigh vacuum. The tests performed to confirm the presence of the charging effects and the methods used to overcome these effects are discussed.
