Phase transitions in Y2O3-partially-stabilized zirconia crystals (3 mo
l % Y2O3 or less) prepared by directional solidification were studied
by DTA, DSC, and high-temperature optical microscopy. The temperature
ranges and enthalpies of the M reversible arrow T ZrO2 transformations
were determined. With increasing Y2O3 content, the transformation tem
peratures and the thermal hysteresis width decrease.
