Abstract
This paper discusses the need for analysis of transportation systems w hose components are subject to degradation, and describes an integrate d equilibrium model for a large scale, multi-mode degradable transport ation system. The existence, uniqueness and stability of the solutions are discussed. Use of the model, to identify the socio-economic impac ts of system degradation, the critical components and system reliabili ty, is also discussed. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
