K. Lakshminarayana et al., CHARGING AND DISCHARGING CURRENTS IN POLY(VINYL PYRROLIDONE) POLYMER THIN-FILMS, Materials chemistry and physics, 42(3), 1995, pp. 206-209
Poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) polymer films were prepared by the isoth
ermal immersion technique. Transient currents (charging and dischargin
g currents) in PVP thin films were measured in the temperature range 3
0-150 degrees C and field strengths of 2.3 X 10(6) - 23 X 10(6) V m(-1
). Activation energies were evaluated from quasi steady-state currents
. The single relaxation peaks were observed from isochronal currents a
nd low frequency dielectric relaxation. The activation energies were e
valuated from both these methods and are almost similar. The polarizat
ion was attributed to dipolar mechanism.
