Abstract
The integration requirements for manufacturing applications are determ ined by increasing productivity, flexibility and quality demands. Driv en by the industrial needs for manufacturing integration such as co-op eration of application systems, consistency of the information model a nd continuity of communication through all management and control leve ls, the VOICE project has mainly addressed the application of CIMOSA t o distinct industrial scenarios which commonly require information int egration in a heterogeneous infrastructure environment: troubleshootin g aid and maintenance in assembly line; order planning and tool manage ment in ''big part'' manufacturing and in an aluminum melting and cast ing plant. During the project, an integrating infrastructure composed of a set of distributed services, supporting the execution of the mode lled manufacturing processes, has been developed and prototypes of ser vices have been implemented and tested in the different VOICE industri al pilots.
